Heavens to Murgittroyd...a new John Locke in the making?

Another indie author is hitting the tops of the Amazon rankings with $0.99 books. Rick Murcer has two books published through his own Murgittroyd Books publisher Caribbean Moon is #2 and Deceitful Moon #11. I'm always amazed with anyone who can hit these very high rankings.

Both are relatively new releases (first in March second in end of May). His blog has 9 followers and 3 posts???? Interesting...going to see if I can get him to do an interview.

EDIT: I just posted my thoughts after interviewing Rick Murcer you can read it here.

That's about the same number of followers I have. I'd love to read an interview with this writer so good luck in getting one. :)

Makes me wonder what I'm doing wrong. Even though I have a good number of 5-star reviews and 4500 twitter followers. Hmmm.

I saw his name in the listings, and I was wondering who he was. He seems to have come out of nowhere (although I'm sure there was lots of hard work going on in the background).

An interview would be fascinating.

P.S. If you haven't heard the news, Thomas & Mercer have now signed Scott Nicholson too, they are really going for it.

Crap, I have 870 followers and I'm with a traditional publisher - I'd like to know what he's doing!

But but but... the big publishers tell me that success with self-publishing is very rare. ;)

Interesting to see such success so quickly. How I thought the e-book market was a bit more mature. :)

He's agreed to an interview - I'll try to get it done and posted right away.

@David - as to Scott - yeah I already knew about that. Scott and I are actually working on a possible project together so I knew they were taking over his Liquid Fear and the sequel.

Amazing. I found this on twitter - it's an interview where he talks briefly about how he markets his books. Nothing to do with blogging, really.

I did a phone interview with Rick yesterday, what a wonderfully delightful man he is. He shared a lot of information with me and I want to make sure he is comfortable with "putting it out there". So I've emailed him the post for approval. Hopefully I'll have this up later today.
